Maryland AG Anthony Brown Orders CVI/VPC to Cease 'Voter Report Cards'

A Democrat-leaning organization in Maryland has been sending 'Voter Report Cards' to residents, listing the names and addresses of their neighbors along with their voting history. The mailings, which appear to be an attempt to intimidate voters, include vaguely threatening messages stating that while the choice of candidate is private, whether or not someone voted is public record. The Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown has issued a cease-and-desist letter to the Center for Voter Information/Voter Participation Center (CVI/VPC), the group responsible for the mailings, ordering them to immediately stop the practice. The letters have caused concern among recipients, with some noting the inclusion of issues like abortion and marijuana on the ballot. The return address on the mailings is a downtown TLH post office mailbox.
