Cooper Flagg's 42 Points Sets ACC Freshman Record in Duke's 86-78 Win Over Notre Dame

Cooper Flagg set a new Duke freshman scoring record with 42 points in Duke's 86-78 victory over Notre Dame, marking the team's tenth consecutive win. Duke opened the game with a 14-0 run, and Flagg delivered a standout performance, including a powerful dunk that energized the team. He shot 11 of 14 from the field, including 4 of 6 from three-point range, and 16 of 17 from the free-throw line. Flagg also contributed 7 assists and 6 rebounds. His 42 points are the most by any freshman in ACC men's basketball history, surpassing Olivier Hanlan's previous record of 41 points. Flagg is the first Duke player to score 40 or more points in a game since JJ Redick in 2006 and only the third to do so in the last 40 years. Notably, his three-point shooting has significantly improved over the last six games, hitting 54.5% compared to 22.2% in the first ten games.
