The National Electoral Institute (INE) of Mexico has approved a significant budget cut for the 2025 judicial election, reducing the allocation from the initially requested 13,205 million pesos to 6,329 million pesos. This represents a reduction of 52.2%. The decision was made by the INE's temporary budget commission, which also adjusted the institute's base budget by 6.87%. The budget cut will impact the organization of the judicial election, set to take place on June 1, 2025, which involves the election of judges, magistrates, and Supreme Court justices.
