China has approved the construction of a mega dam on the Yarlung Zangbo River in Tibet, which is projected to generate three times more power than the Three Gorges Dam. The Yarlung Zangbo River, known as the Brahmaputra in India, flows through the deepest canyon on Earth, presenting significant engineering challenges.
