Boeing Reports Lowest Monthly Deliveries Since 2020, Only 14 Jets Delivered in October Amid Strike Impact
Nov 12, 2024, 04:09 PM
Boeing reported a significant decline in airplane deliveries for October, marking the lowest monthly total since November 2020. The company delivered only 14 commercial jets, a sharp drop from the 34 jets delivered in October 2023. This decline is attributed to a strike by Boeing’s largest union, which halted most of its aircraft production. The strike, which lasted nearly two months, ended last week, with Tuesday set as the deadline for all machinists to report back to work. Boeing delivered 10 jets in Washington and four in South Carolina. Boeing also announced that it will take several weeks to restart airplane production. Additionally, Boeing plans to cut 10% of its global workforce as part of its restructuring efforts following the strike.
