Boeing Increases Wage Offer to 30% to End Second Week of Machinists' Strike
Sep 23, 2024, 07:00 PM
Boeing has made a significant move to resolve the ongoing strike by its machinists, which has halted most of its aircraft production for over a week. The company has increased its wage offer to 30% over four years, up from a previous offer of 25%. Additionally, Boeing has doubled the ratification bonus to $6,000 and plans to enhance its 401(k) match program to 100% of the first 8% of pay, while continuing an automatic 4% company contribution. This proposal, described as Boeing's 'best and final' offer, aims to address the demands of the International Association of Machinists representing more than 30,000 workers at its Seattle manufacturing hub. The strike, now in its second week, began on September 13 and has significantly impacted Boeing's operations.
