31-Year-Old Bailey Anne Becomes First Trans Woman and Asian-American to Win Miss Maryland USA

Bailey Anne, a 31-year-old transgender woman, has been crowned Miss Maryland USA, making her the first trans woman to win the title. Anne, who is also the first Asian-American and military officer’s wife to hold this title, hopes her win will inspire LGBTQ+ youth to be themselves. Despite facing criticism from some quarters, Anne declared, 'Not everyone has to agree with the spaces that you occupy, and it doesn’t mean that you aren’t worthy.' She beat dozens of women to win the prestigious title.
