Trump's Border Czar Homan Warns Sanctuary Cities: 'Don't Test Us' Ahead of Mass Deportations
Nov 26, 2024, 03:46 PM
Tom Homan, former director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and appointed as President-elect Donald Trump's new border czar, has outlined plans for a mass deportation operation targeting illegal immigrants in the United States. During a visit to Eagle Pass, Texas, with Governor Greg Abbott, Homan warned that sanctuary cities and states that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities could lose federal funding and face legal consequences, including the prosecution of officials who obstruct enforcement. He emphasized, 'Let me be clear: There is going to be a mass deportation,' and cautioned, 'Don't test us!' Homan highlighted national security concerns at the southern border, labeling it the biggest threat since 9/11, and cited the influx of unaccompanied minors, including children as young as two years old, and illegal crossings of over 200 migrants as pressing issues. Homan affirmed plans to 'finish Trump's work' at the border, stating that planning is already underway ahead of Trump's inauguration on January 20.
