Atlanta-Based Emory University First to Disclose $15.8 Million Bitcoin ETF Holdings
Oct 28, 2024, 02:26 PM
Emory University has become the first academic institution to publicly disclose holdings in a Bitcoin ETF. The Atlanta-based university reported a $15.8 million investment in Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This disclosure marks the first time a university endowment has reported a Bitcoin ETF position, representing a significant milestone as college endowments collectively hold $840 billion in assets. With this move, every type of institutional investor, including banks, hedge funds, insurance companies, advisors, pensions, private equity, holding companies, venture capital, trusts, family offices, and brokerages, is now represented in Bitcoin ETF filings.
