Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, aged 79, underwent an emergency surgery for an intracranial hemorrhage and remains in stable condition in the ICU at Hospital Sírio-Libanês in São Paulo. Medical reports indicate that Lula is alert, has progressed well post-surgery, and is now able to sit up in bed and receive visits from family members. He is scheduled for a second procedure on Thursday morning to block blood flow in a region of his brain and prevent further hemorrhages. This procedure, an embolization of the meningeal artery, aims to stop the bleeding that caused his initial emergency surgery. Despite his condition, Lula has been engaging in physical therapy and walking, indicating a positive recovery trajectory. His medical team, led by Dr. Roberto Kalil Filho, has stated that work is currently out of the question, focusing instead on his health and recovery.
