The NBA has announced new 11-year media rights agreements with Amazon, Disney (ABC/ESPN), and NBCUniversal (NBC/Peacock) worth $77 billion. This decision ends a 40-year partnership with Turner Sports (TNT), as Warner Bros. Discovery's proposal did not match the terms of Amazon Prime Video's offer. The new deal, starting from the 2025-26 season and running through the 2035-36 season, aims to maximize game accessibility for fans. Amazon will pay approximately $1.8 billion annually. The NBA's media rights package includes telecasts on ABC, ESPN, NBC, Peacock, and Amazon Prime Video, covering events such as the NBA Finals, All-Star Weekend, NBA Cup, and Play-In Tournament. Additionally, Disney, NBCU, and Amazon secured rights to distribute an unprecedented number of WNBA live game telecasts. TNT is considering legal action in response to the decision.
