Russian Ambassador Accuses UK of 'Proxy War' in Ukraine; Defence Secretary Refutes Claims
Oct 20, 2024, 01:33 PM
Russian Ambassador to the UK, Andrei Kelin, has accused the British government of engaging in a 'proxy war' against Russia by supplying arms to Ukraine. In an interview with the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg, Kelin stated that British security services are diverting attention from Ukraine by making statements about alleged Russian sabotage. He also criticized the peace plan presented by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, claiming it lacks actual peace initiatives and accusing Zelensky of continuously asking for more support from NATO and the European Union. In response, the UK Defence Secretary refuted Kelin's claims, asserting that the only country waging war in Europe is Russia.
