Israeli soldiers were ambushed by Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon near the town of Maroun al-Ras, resulting in casualties among the Israeli forces. The incident occurred as a group of Israeli troops attempted to infiltrate from Metula into southern Lebanon but were intercepted by Hezbollah's special operations unit, the "Redwan" Force. Reports indicate that at least 35 Israeli soldiers were injured and at least four were killed during the clashes.
