Trump Leads Harris 48%-47% Among Likely Voters in Latest NYT/Siena Poll

A recent national poll conducted by The New York Times and Siena College from September 3-6 shows former President Donald Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris by a narrow margin of 48% to 47% among likely voters. The poll highlights a close race, with Trump leading among voters aged 45-65 and Harris leading among the 18-44 age group. Additionally, 50% of respondents believe Trump would handle the most important issues better, compared to 45% for Harris. The poll also indicates that 54% of voters view Trump as a risky choice, slightly higher than the 52% who view Harris similarly. The results, based on responses from 1,695 likely voters with a margin of error of ±2.8%, are largely unchanged from a similar poll conducted in late July, following President Biden's decision not to seek re-election.
