Apple Requests WOLED+CF Displays from LG and Samsung for Entry-Level Vision Headset
Jun 29, 2024, 07:39 AM
Apple has reportedly requested information from LG Display and Samsung Display regarding Micro-OLED production for entry-level devices. The company aims to increase shipments of its Vision Pro products and stabilize its supply chain. The requested display specifications include a 2.1 inch white Micro-OLED panel with about 1700 PPI, also described as WOLED+CF. This is in contrast to the current Apple Vision Pro, which uses a 1.4 inch white Micro-OLED display with 3386 PPI. A South Korean news outlet reports that the move suggests Apple may be preparing to release a cheaper version of the Vision headset.
