Jul 5, 2024, 02:10 AM
Defence Secretary Grant Shapps has lost his seat in Welwyn Hatfield, Hertfordshire, to Labour candidate Andrew Lewin. Shapps, who has held the seat since 2005, was defeated with a Labour majority of 3,800 votes and a 14% swing. This marks the second Cabinet minister to lose their seat in the 2024 General Election, following Alex Chalk.
