Lionel Messi's Real Estate Trust Debuts at €223M Valuation, €57.40 Per Share, Focused in Catalonia
Dec 31, 2024, 11:06 AM
Lionel Messi, the renowned Argentine footballer and current Inter Miami player, has launched a real estate investment trust (REIT) named Edificio Rostower, which debuted on the European Portfolio Stock Exchange. The REIT, valued at €223 million ($232 million), began trading at €57.40 per share under the ticker 'ERTW'. Edificio Rostower's portfolio includes six MiM hotels managed by Majestic in locations such as Andorra, Ibiza, and Mallorca, as well as luxury apartments in Barcelona, Paris, and London. The trust also holds office spaces, retail properties, and a restaurant in Castelldefels. Messi's family investment vehicle, Limecu España 2010, is the sole shareholder, though the trust plans to open to new investors. The REIT recorded a loss of €1.7 million in 2023, with most of its investments concentrated in Catalonia. Messi serves as chairman of the board, with his wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, as vice-chair. The REIT's listing reflects a growing trend of athletes diversifying their wealth into real estate and other investments.
