Sep 28, 2024, 12:44 PM
The Iraqi government has declared three days of national mourning following the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. This announcement was made by Iraqi Prime Minister Shia al-Sudani. The black flag, a customary symbol of mourning in Shia Islam, was raised at the Shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad, Iran. Influential Iraqi Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr also expressed his grief and declared three days of mourning, stating, 'You lived with pride and went as a proud martyr, you and those with you.' Nasrallah and his companions were reportedly killed in an Israeli attack on Beirut.
