Iran Confirms No Direct Links with Syria's New Government After Assad's Fall

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced that Tehran currently has no direct contact with Syria's new ruling faction following the fall of President Bashar al-Assad's regime 15 days ago. While Iran had previous communications with various armed opposition groups, including through the Syrian Constitutional Committee, Baghaei emphasized that direct links with the current administration have not been established. He reiterated Iran's support for Syria's sovereignty and expressed concerns over the country potentially becoming a refuge for terrorist groups.
