SpaceX Uses Rocket Launch Dominance to Boost Starlink, Push Rivals to Share Spectrum
Oct 9, 2024, 02:19 PM
SpaceX has leveraged its dominant position as the world’s primary rocket launcher to push satellite rivals into sharing wireless airwaves, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. The Elon Musk-led company has used its influence to boost its Starlink satellite internet service. During negotiations for satellite launches, SpaceX asked companies such as Kepler Communications and OneWeb to cede spectrum. Attorneys from the law firm Wilson Sonsini have met with the Justice Department regarding these negotiations. Starlink’s rapid growth and influence have made it an indispensable part of SpaceX.
