Sony Pictures has announced that 'Kraven the Hunter' will be the final film in its Spider-Man villain spin-off universe, marking the end of an era for the studio's exploration of characters from Marvel's 'Spider-Man' comics. This decision follows a series of underperforming films, including 'Morbius' and 'Madame Web'. Sony is now shifting its focus to other 'Spider-Man' related projects, such as 'Spider-Man 4', 'Beyond the Spider-Verse', and the 'Spider-Man: Noir' series. Director J.C. Chandor of 'Kraven the Hunter' has expressed interest in concluding Kraven's story with an adaptation of 'Kraven's Last Hunt' should the film prove successful.
