Raphinha Scores Twice as Barcelona Beats Real Madrid 5-2 for Super Cup Title

FC Barcelona secured a commanding 5-2 victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid to win the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the King Abdullah Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Real Madrid took an early lead with a goal from Kylian Mbappé in the 5th minute, but Barcelona equalized through Lamine Yamal in the 22nd minute. Robert Lewandowski converted a penalty in the 36th minute to put Barcelona ahead, and Raphinha extended the lead with a header in the 39th minute. Before halftime, Alejandro Balde made it 4-1 in favor of Barcelona. Despite Wojciech Szczesny receiving a red card in the second half, reducing Barcelona to 10 men, the Catalan side continued to dominate.
