Aaron Judge Unanimously Wins Second AL MVP After 58-Homer Season
Nov 21, 2024, 11:26 PM
Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has been unanimously named the 2024 American League Most Valuable Player (AL MVP), receiving all 30 first-place votes. He becomes just the second Yankee to win the MVP award unanimously, joining Mickey Mantle. This marks the second time Judge has won the award, making him the seventh player in Yankees history to win multiple MVPs, alongside Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Alex Rodriguez, and Thurman Munson. Judge led Major League Baseball in home runs with 58 and runs batted in (RBIs) with 144 while batting .322 during the season. He is also one of only four active players with multiple MVP awards. Notably, Derek Jeter, also known as "The Captain," announced Judge's MVP win, highlighting his role as the current Yankees captain.
