China's NDRC Sets Up Division to Boost Low-Altitude Economy to 2 Trillion Yuan by 2030
Dec 28, 2024, 07:08 AM
China is intensifying efforts to boost its low-altitude economy, which involves economic activities and industries centered around manned and unmanned aerial vehicles operating within 1,000 meters above the ground. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has established the Low-Altitude Economy Development Division to coordinate policies, plans, and infrastructure development. This move is part of China's strategy to foster new growth drivers amid economic stagnation caused by prolonged real estate downturns. The low-altitude economy is projected to reach a market size of 2 trillion yuan (approximately 42 trillion yen) by 2030. The NDRC's new department has been actively engaging in symposiums to advance the construction of low-altitude infrastructure and intelligent network systems.
