Stanford Develops PAGERs for Programmable Cell Behavior Control

Researchers from Stanford University have developed a new technology involving synthetic G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) known as programmable antigen-gated G-protein-coupled engineered receptors (PAGERs). These PAGERs can sense diverse antigens and trigger a range of intracellular responses, acting as logic gates for programmable expression. This technology allows for the detection of both soluble and cell-attached antigens, potentially leading to advancements in cell behavior control with applications in immunotherapy and synthetic biology.
