These banks and funds, managing a combined $14 trillion in assets, have signed a statement in support of nuclear power. The announcement was made during an event at Rockefeller Center, attended by Biden's climate czar and the prime minister of Slovenia. This marks a significant shift as banks have historically avoided overt support of nuclear energy due to its controversial nature. The pledge highlights the growing recognition of nuclear power as a viable solution for achieving net-zero emissions, particularly as most new nuclear plants have been built in Asia and the Middle East, led by China.
