VisitBeijing Sets Tourism Records with 250 Million Tourists, $63.3 Billion Revenue in Jan-Aug Period

Beijing welcomed nearly 250 million tourists and generated 450 billion yuan (about $63.3 billion) in tourism revenue during the first eight months of this year, setting new records for the period, according to Mayor Yin Yong. The number of inbound travelers to the Chinese capital in recent months has exceeded pre-pandemic levels, with more arrivals now coming from Asia and Russia, and fewer from the U.S., official data showed. The records were set during the Jan-Aug period.
