Donald Trump Arrives in Washington Ahead of Second Inauguration, Becoming Second President with Non-Consecutive Terms
Jan 19, 2025, 12:51 AM
Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States on January 20, 2025, marking his return to the White House after serving a previous term. He will become the second president in U.S. history to serve non-consecutive terms, following Grover Cleveland. Trump departed from Florida on Saturday with First Lady Melania Trump and their son Barron, arriving in Washington, D.C., ahead of inauguration festivities. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for noon at the US Capitol, coinciding with Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Due to record cold temperatures, the swearing-in may take place inside the Capitol Rotunda. Celebrations include a fireworks display at Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, attended by Trump and his family, with performances of "God Bless America" and "Hallelujah."
