A landslide at a landfill in Uganda's capital, Kampala, has resulted in a tragic loss of life. Initially, reports indicated that eight people were killed in the collapse. However, as rescue operations continued, authorities confirmed that the death toll has risen to at least 18, according to the Red Cross. The incident occurred at a vast rubbish dump, where many were present, possibly scavenging or working, when the landslide struck. Rescuers are still digging through the debris in search of possible survivors.
