VisitThailand Reports 30% Surge with 26.6 Million Tourists, Aims for 40 Million in 2025

Thailand, the world's eighth most popular tourist destination, is experiencing a significant resurgence in its tourism sector. From January 1 to October 6, the country recorded 26.6 million foreign tourists, marking a 30% year-on-year increase and generating revenue of 1.24 trillion baht to date, according to the Ministry of Tourism. A record surge in domestic and foreign tourists was seen during the recent holiday period. The top three visitor nationalities are Chinese (5.39 million), Malaysian (3.82 million), and Indian (1.57 million). Looking ahead, Thailand aims to welcome 40 million foreign tourist arrivals in 2025, surpassing pre-pandemic records. Authorities are collaborating with companies including Expedia to attract travelers.
