Bombing in Gaza Displaces 250,000 Amid New Israeli Evacuation Orders in Khan Younis and Rafah
Jul 5, 2024, 06:47 PM
Bombing continued overnight into Thursday in Gaza, where tens of thousands of people have been uprooted following new evacuation orders by Israeli authorities earlier this week. Nearly 250,000 people in Gaza have been displaced again, with many finding nowhere safe to shelter. UN humanitarian agencies have warned of the severe impact on civilians, as an airstrike hit areas near a UN-run school sheltering displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis. The UN has called for a ceasefire, stating that the continuous cycle of displacement and despair must stop. The evacuation orders, the largest issued since October, have forced hundreds of thousands out of Khan Younis and Rafah in the south.
