Six Pakistani soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat, were killed in an ambush by Islamist militants in Spinwam, North Waziristan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack, which occurred on Friday, also resulted in injuries to 22 other soldiers. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility for the ambush. The military's media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed the incident and reported that six militants were killed during the intense exchange of fire.
