At 8:45 AM on November 9, 2024, a powerful suicide bombing occurred at Quetta railway station in Balochistan, Pakistan, killing at least 24 people and injuring over 53. The attack targeted Pakistani army personnel from the Infantry School as they were preparing to depart on the Jaffer Express train to Peshawar. The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), through its Majeed Brigade, claimed responsibility for the 'fidayeen' attack on the Pakistani army unit. Civilians, including women and children, were among the casualties. The body of the bomber has been identified, and authorities are investigating the incident. An emergency has been declared in local hospitals as many of the injured are in critical condition.
