Colossal Biosciences Secures $200M in Series C Funding from TWG Global, Valued at $10.2B for De-Extinction
Jan 15, 2025, 02:35 PM
Colossal Biosciences, a Dallas-based startup focused on de-extinction, has raised $200 million in a Series C funding round led by TWG Global, a holding company jointly led by Mark Walter and Thomas Tull. This brings the company's total funding to $435 million since its launch in 2021, and its valuation now stands at $10.2 billion. Colossal aims to bring back extinct species such as the woolly mammoth, the Tasmanian tiger, and the dodo bird. The new funds will be used to advance genetic engineering technologies and expand the company's de-extinction species list, while also supporting conservation efforts through the Colossal Foundation, which currently supports 48 conservation partners worldwide.
