China Unveils Massive Energy Project, Leads in Offshore Wind and Solar Power
Nov 16, 2024, 11:52 PM
China has unveiled a massive new energy project, marking a historic moment for the nation. The country has rolled out an ultra-high-voltage electricity grid, described as a 'bullet train for power,' to support its clean energy production, according to Xiaoying You of BBC. China now ranks first globally in offshore wind power linked to its grid, having built and connected 39.1 million kilowatts of offshore wind power by the third quarter of 2024, as reported during a conference on offshore wind power industrial chain cooperation. Additionally, China boasts the world's largest offshore solar power plant, located eight kilometers off the coast of Donging, with a capacity of 1 GW.
