Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh Assassinated in Tehran by Airstrike Early Wednesday Morning

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh has been assassinated in Tehran, Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that Haniyeh and one of his bodyguards were killed in a targeted attack on their residence early Wednesday morning. Iranian state television also reported the assassination, with Hamas confirming the death and attributing the attack to Israel. Haniyeh had recently met with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The attack was reportedly carried out by an airstrike.
