India Becomes Second-Largest Supplier of Critical Technologies to Russia After China, Exports $60 Million
Oct 12, 2024, 07:33 AM
India has surged to become the second-largest supplier of restricted critical technologies to Russia, after China, according to US and European officials. Indian exports of goods such as microchips, microprocessors, circuits, and machine tools to Russia exceeded $60 million in both April and May, about double the amount in the previous months of this year. By July, these exports had doubled to $95 million. This development highlights the challenges faced by the US and EU in their efforts to restrict supplies that could fuel President Vladimir Putin’s war machine.
