Democrat LaMonica McIver Wins Special Election in NJ-10 by 62.5 Points

Voters in northern New Jersey have elected Democrat LaMonica McIver to fill the U.S. House seat in the 10th congressional district, previously held by the late Rep. Donald Payne Jr. The special election, held on September 18, 2024, saw McIver, the Newark Council President, become the eighth Congresswoman in New Jersey's history. Polls closed at 8:00 PM ET, and early and mail voting results were promptly reported. Decision Desk HQ projected McIver's victory at 8:07 PM ET. The district, which Joe Biden won by 62.5 points, has maintained its Democratic representation with McIver's victory.
