Norway Achieves 89% Electric Vehicle Sales in 2024, Up from 82% in 2023, Led by Tesla and Volkswagen

In 2024, Norway achieved a remarkable milestone in electric vehicle (EV) adoption, with nearly 89% of new cars sold being fully electric. This figure represents a significant increase from 82% in 2023, according to the Norwegian Automotive Industry Association. The shift towards electric vehicles has been largely driven by major manufacturers, with Tesla, Volkswagen, and Toyota leading the market. As a result, gas and diesel cars are becoming increasingly rare in the country, moving Norway closer to its goal of achieving 100% EV sales.
