Bolivia has declared a national emergency due to devastating wildfires in the eastern regions of the country, which border Brazil. The fires have severely affected air quality, with numerous towns and cities now considered hazardous according to the Air Quality Index (AQI). Indigenous communities in the Amazon basin have been most impacted by the fires. The country's defense ministry announced the emergency on Sept 7.
