Indian PM Modi to Visit Russia on July 8 for First Time Since Ukraine Conflict
Jun 25, 2024, 07:49 AM
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Russia on July 8 for the annual India-Russia summit. This visit will mark his first trip to Russia since 2019 and his first since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Preparations for the visit are underway, with Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov confirming the plans but not disclosing specific dates. Modi's last visit to Russia was in September 2019, where he participated in the Eastern Economic Forum held in Vladivostok. The visit is significant as it will be the first summit-level talks between Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin since the Ukraine war began. This will also be Modi's first foreign visit after his re-election.
