Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been honored with Nigeria's second-highest civilian award, the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON), becoming only the second foreign dignitary to receive the honor after Queen Elizabeth II in 1969. The award was conferred by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during a ceremony in Abuja. This marks the 17th international award conferred upon PM Modi by a foreign country. PM Modi expressed his heartfelt gratitude, stating, 'I accept it with great humility and dedicate it to the people of India.'
