DHS Identifies Over 400 Migrants Linked to ISIS Smuggling Network, 50 Remain Unknown
Jun 26, 2024, 01:36 AM
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has identified over 400 migrants brought to the United States by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network. Of these, more than 150 have been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), but the whereabouts of over 50 remain unknown. The migrants, who are considered 'subjects of concern,' were brought into the country through a network linked to ISIS. Many of these migrants are from Central Asia. The situation has raised significant concerns about the vetting process at the border, as many of the migrants were initially detained by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and subsequently released by the Biden administration. The report was first covered by NBC News.
