Eight Illegal Immigrants with ISIS Ties from Tajikistan Arrested, 42,000 Migrants Cross Border
Jun 20, 2024, 02:19 PM
Eight illegal immigrants with ties to ISIS were recently arrested across the United States, having entered the country from Central Asia through Mexico. This incident has sparked significant concern among lawmakers. Senator John Barrasso and Senator Ted Budd, along with 20 other senators, have demanded answers from the Department of Homeland Security regarding the vetting and release of these individuals. Reports indicate that hundreds of migrants from Tajikistan, an ISIS hotbed, have crossed the US border since President Biden's executive order on June 5, 2024. The number of Tajik migrants crossing the border has dramatically increased under Biden's administration, with more than 1,500 known to have crossed in the last few years, compared to just 26 in the previous 14 years. At least one of the eight migrants was released by the DHS using the CBP One mobile app before being apprehended by the FBI for suspected ISIS ties. Additionally, 42,000 migrants have crossed the border since Biden's executive order, and six terrorists with ISIS ties were arrested last week.
