Study Published on Wednesday Finds Metformin Safe for Potential Fathers
Oct 17, 2024, 01:25 AM
A recent large-scale study published on Wednesday has found that men taking the widely prescribed diabetes drug metformin can do so without fear of causing birth defects in their children. The study, which analyzed data from more than 3 million pregnancies, concluded that there is no association between metformin use by potential fathers with type 2 diabetes and birth defects in their offspring. This provides reassurance to men who are managing their diabetes with metformin and are planning to become fathers.
