In a closely contested recount for California's 16th Congressional District, Assemblymember Evan Low emerged victorious over Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian by a narrow margin of five votes. The recount, which was initiated after the initial results showed an unprecedented tie, concluded with Low securing the second place. This victory allows him to advance to the November general election, where he will face Sam Liccardo. The recount process included 16 ballots that were challenged over postmarks in San Mateo County, adding to the tension and scrutiny of the results.
