The Washington Commanders advanced to the NFC Divisional Round after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-20 in a dramatic wildcard game. Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels led the team to its first playoff win in 19 years, completing 24 of 35 passes for 268 yards and two touchdowns. Daniels now has six fourth-quarter comeback wins this season, the most by any rookie starting quarterback since 1950. He also became the first rookie quarterback to win a road playoff game since Russell Wilson in 2012. With the game tied in the final seconds, kicker Zane Gonzalez made a 37-yard field goal that clanged off the upright and went through as time expired. The victory sets up a matchup against the No. 1 seed Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Saturday at 8 p.m.
