Switzerland Joins 14th EU Sanctions Package, Allows Russian Media to Broadcast Amid Ad Ban
Jul 9, 2024, 01:19 PM
Switzerland has joined the 14th package of European sanctions against Russia in response to Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, according to the Swiss government's press service. Despite this, Switzerland will allow four Russian media outlets—Voice of Europe, RIA Novosti, Izvestia, and Rossiyskaya Gazeta—to continue broadcasting, even after they were banned by the European Union. However, Switzerland has announced an advertising ban on these Russian outlets.
