Palestinian Authority Blames Hamas for Gaza Conflict Amid 'Genocidal War' Accusations
Jul 13, 2024, 06:08 PM
The Palestinian Authority (PA) has issued a statement holding Hamas responsible for the continuation of the conflict in Gaza. PA President Mahmoud Abbas, through his spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh, accused Hamas of providing Israel with a pretext to attack by positioning themselves around civilians and avoiding national unity. The PA's statement, carried by the official PA Wafa news outlet, also implicated the US administration in the ongoing violence, describing it as a 'genocidal war.' The statement followed an elimination attempt on Mohammed Deif and a massacre today. Hamas has condemned the PA's comments, arguing that they absolve Israel of responsibility and equate the victim with the executioner.
