Philadelphia DA Sues Elon Musk's America PAC to Halt $1 Million Daily Voter Giveaway
Oct 28, 2024, 02:32 PM
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner has filed a lawsuit against Elon Musk and his pro-Trump super PAC, America PAC, seeking to halt Musk's $1 million daily voter giveaway targeting registered voters in swing states, including Pennsylvania. The lawsuit alleges that the lottery-style contest, which awards $1 million daily to voters who sign a petition supporting the Constitution, may be an illegal lottery and could constitute interference with election integrity. Musk has described the PAC as an "anti-Soros PAC" and has defended the legality of the giveaway, stating that it is intended to encourage voter registration ahead of the upcoming presidential election on November 5. The Justice Department had previously sent a letter warning that the contest might be unlawful.
